Looking for some fun and delicious drinks to make at home?

I had gone to a distillery with some girlfriends one weekend and discovered that I like gin! This was something I never knew. I was so excited when I got home, telling my boyfriend about this delicious gin that I tried and loved. He gave me this look and told me that what I had wasn’t true gin and that I’m not someone who likes gin.

Determined to show him that he was wrong, I planned a date night in, I found ten different gin drink recipes, we made and tried them all. He was wrong, I do like gin, IF it is mixed well in a drink. These two recipes below are our two favorites out of all the experiments that we did. They are now our go to drinks. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do, and please try to be somewhat responsible when you drink them. (Don’t say I didn’t warn you :))

 Gin Drinks for those who didn't even know they liked gin

Bee’s Knees

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Honey Simple Syrup (see recipe below)

1/4 cup Lemon Juice

1/3 cup Dry Gin

Lemon Slice

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker with ice, add honey simple syrup, lemon juice, and gin. Shake well and serve in your Off Your Rocker Pottery small cup over ice, garnish with lemon slice.

Enjoy!!

 

Celery Gimlet

Ingredients:

1 rib of celery, chopped

.75 oz Simple Syrup (see recipe below)

2 oz Dry Gin

.75 oz Lime Juice

Directions:

Add celery and simple syrup to the base of your cocktail shaker and muddle until celery is broken down and the juices have been expressed. Add gin and lime juice and fill the shaker with ice. Shake until fully combined and chilled. Strain into your small Off Your Rocker Pottery cup over ice. Enjoy!

 

Honey Simple Syrup

1 cup honey

1 cup water

Directions:

In a saucepan on the stove heat water and honey on low until warm and honey has dissolved and has been incorporated. Let cool to room temperature and store in a canning jar.

 

Simple Syrup

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

Directions:

In a saucepan on the stove heat water and sugar on low until warm and sugar has dissolved and has been incorporated. Let cool to room temperature and store in a canning jar.

 

*When I make my simple syrups, I tend to add just a bit of extra water to them to stretch my honey and sugar a bit farther.
