Who wants to play safe when you can play big instead...

Those of you who know me or read my blog know I try to find inspiration everywhere. We all see the quotes on social media daily and I am sure we all have different feelings about them. From time to time I come across one that hits home for me.

"Nothing incredible was ever achieved by playing it safe," by Jonathan Silver Scott.

We all know "unsafe play" can end up being a lot of fun, it can also end in disaster. But if you want something bigger or something special you have to take those risks. If you are looking for that huge adrenaline rush of free falling you have to take that leap out of the plane. I don't run Off Your Rocker Pottery like most traditional potters run their business. I am not always playing it safe. I have been told many times that I am an anomaly among the pottery community, I just smile and say thank you.

Putting yourself out there can make you feel vulnerable, like some of the blogs I write or interviews I have done, or coming up with designs that don't blend into the rest of people's work. But without putting yourself out there you will never know what you are capable of. It is the scary and uncomfortable situations that the best results come from. Their are times in life to buckle up but their are also times where you just need to leap!

Playing it safe is just that, safe. It keeps everything in a small comfort zone but it will never go any further. Taking risks can be an emotional roller coaster of confident highs and self-conscious lows, but it is a ride I don't plan on getting off.

This can be for anything in life, for what ever your passion is. Don't play safe, safe is boring. So let's go out there and take some risks, aim for something incredible.

If you enjoyed this, or if this resonated with you at all, I ask that you pop on over and take a look at my handmade dinnerware. If you see something you like, or a great gift, please pick it up.

I so appreciate you support, thank you. And for reading this blog save 10% OFF your order by using checkout code: Journey
