Pepperroni Pasta Recipe

Yep I said it, pepperoni pasta! My kids love pepperoni, who doesn't, and this meal is always a big hit. I slim this down by using turkey pepperoni. Don't tell your husband and he will never know. If that wasn't enough to make you want to try this amazing recipe the grand prize is it is made with wine, someone will have to finish that bottle!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 TBS Butter

4-5 oz Turkey Pepperoni

1 Onion, diced

2 Cloves Garlic, minced

1/2 cup White Wine

28 oz can Crushed Tomatoes

1 TBL Sugar

1/4 cup 2% Milk

1/3 cup Fresh Basil, finely chopped

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 package of Pasta (feel free to use a whole wheat or a vegetable base pasta)

Directions:

Cook pasta according to package directions.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and pepperoni, cook and stir until onions are soft and begin to golden. Add garlic and stir in for about 1 minute.

Add wine, cook and stir until most has evaporated, about 3 minutes. Stir in crushed tomatoes and sugar, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally. Stir in milk, salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and stir in basil.

In an Off Your Rocker Pottery flat bowl lay down a bed of pasta and top with sauce, eat and enjoy.
